Natural Intelligence
There is a web of connection that binds all things together through vibration, frequency and resonance. In the New Testament there is a powerful passage that says, "[you] hold everything together by the word of [your] power." Everything is held together by a Higher Intelligence, through sound and resonance. The greek word for "word" is logos and can be translated as "blueprint" or the natural ordering of the world. It was a philosophical term that was greek in origin, but borrowed by Christians. This is the same concept from the yogic perspective of kundalini and many other spiritual traditions and philosophies. There is an intelligence in this universe that is at work and is mysterious at its core. This intelligence is obviously at work when you look in nature. Humans have tried to fine tune ecosystems to manipulate them how they like, but it ultimately ends up doing more harm than good. We cannot see the bigger picture at work in the natural world, and in the end nature will balance everything out. This Natural Intelligence also exists in our body, but because we have such a powerful analytical mind we trip ourselves up and break our connection with it. This is a part of what happens when trauma occurs in humans. When animals are threatened by predators and the fight/flight response kicks in, they have a lot adrenaline pumping through their system. When they are safe, they will shake vigorously to release the trapped adrenaline so that it doesn't get stuck in the system. As humans, we get stuck with social expectations, self-judgments, and other reasons why we aren't attuned to what our body needs after a horrible experience. Letting your body authentically shake after a car accident could help with any trauma that was caused from the accident.
So, it's in surrendering to our body's innate intelligence where the healing begins to occur. Getting out of the intellectual mind and finding silence within. The inner sanctum of your heart is always asking for you to pay attention, and the body is a powerful gateway into connecting with it. There are many ways to access your authentic nature, but stillness is a must. The way that everyone finds stillness is different. It's unique to you. The alignment that takes place when you find stillness inside of yourself is the alignment to your authentic self, which is not separate from all things, but interconnected and woven through the thread of Love that binds this whole world together. It is the source of being, not being itself. The work of your life is to discover what is blocking you from finding this stillness. Some principles for finding the stillness, though, are as follows.
Stillness involves quitting the judgments of the mind, but this is very difficult to access when our minds are active so much of the time. Our society constantly pulls us towards distraction, dissociation, and activity. There's a lot of stimulation, and no room for truly listening to the present moment, and the communications that we are receiving from the Natural Intelligence in our body. So, first and foremost it is vital to find space where you won't be distracted. This can be alone, or with another person. Sometimes the presence of another allows us to deepen into the presence within ourselves. This is one reason why people go to therapy. Another piece that is helpful in finding your path into stillness is consistency. Allowing yourself to show up for yourself. Letting go of the judgments you have, of yourself and others. If you can't do that, then accepting that you are judging yourself and simply watching them come and go like boats floating down their river until they all disappear. And if that seems impossible, surrender to the idea that you can't do it by sheer willpower alone is essential. This is why they recognize, in Alcoholics Anonymous, the importance of surrendering to 'god as you know him.' We must humble ourselves in order to act in accordance with the higher intelligence at work in the universe. This means asking for help can be a catalyst to finding that connection internally.
It is a very brave and inspiring thing to search out a therapist and want to change your life. It's scary as well. Who can understand you, and offer the healing connection you need? I hope that my writings are helpful in allowing you to know how I work with others, how I see the world, and if you resonate with all of that so that you can know if working with me would be supportive for you on your journey.
